Probably one of the difficult but important industries in a very big way is
trucking. Everything from very small to very large and those in between.
And that likely describes the trucks and the drivers. Our food, clothing,
furniture, just about anything you can think of is probably in some way
connected to trucking. Long haul drivers have their stories, smaller trucks
have plenty of stories as well. Country music blaring on the radio and
away you go....

My Hot Shot trips have taken me through desolate mountain side locations,
in the black of the night and into the suddenly bright lights of a drilling rig.
Hot Shot drivers are those willing to work 24/7, get the call and make the
trip under some difficult conditions, deliver small parts, pipes, valves to
places that may be difficult to find and maybe even more difficult to get to.
Often tmes the cell phones and two way phones do not work in certain regions
and you are totally on your own in the event of a break down, driving off the
road or sometimes sleeping in the truck till daybreak. Some cold dark winter
trips start at 2 A.M. and you get to experience a glorious sunrise and equally
magnificent sunset. Mother nature offers plenty of distractions by way of
coyotes, deer and moose crossing.  Black ice, howling winds and howling
wolves make this a business that is not for the weak of heart. So the black
coffee and brief conversations at the service stations along the way all help,
as does the hug from your wife and loved ones when you leave and when
you return. With carnage and distruction on the roadways, that is another
major concern.  But then, that is a brief snapshot of the hot shot driver and
with  faith and a full tank of fuel, away we go. Another delivery completed
and someone somewhere can complete a rig job, make use of a very badly
needed part and the hot shot driver gets to go home and rest...until the next
call. And to all the drivers out there, and I know there are many of you,
a special prayer for your safety.

Bless the drivers on the road, each carrying a special load
bring them home safe and sound, and keep them driving
round and round.
