There's No Stress or Pressure During the Holidays. Right!

I'm late getting my Christmas decorations down this year. I usually have them down the first weekend after Christmas, but I was busy this year, so I let myself off the hook and allowed for another week to get it done. I'm glad I did wait too, because I noticed how I've enjoyed the decorations more this week than I did the weeks leading up to Christmas. Curious? I thought so too, so I pondered this as I carefully packed all the ornaments and lights away. What I discovered was that I put a lot pressure on myself prior to Christmas. Pressure to buy the perfect gifts, pressure to stick within a budget, pressure to get them wrapped, pressure to get the cards in the mail and make little gifts for the neighbors, pressure to get the baking done and the house cleaned... pressure to make the perfect holiday, and I realized that every time I looked at my tree, instead of seeing how beautiful it was, all I thought about was how far from perfect things were!
But after Christmas that pressure is gone and all that's left is my beautiful tree! So next year, maybe I'll wait to the last minute to put up the tree, then leave it till February instead, so I can really enjoy it longer! Just kidding... I think the better approach would be to stop being so hard on myself, and just enjoy the holiday.
As always it is my goal to uplift, inspire and help others to heal their lives. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this with you. - Kim
