Eusbe was an old gent from a small town in Quebec who came
west and settled in Alberta. He lived a few doors down from our
old home place - that old place not there any more, making room
for apartments. Eusbe taught me the game of Chess, played the
occassional game of baseball with myself and a few friends. He
spoke with a heavy French accent and yet captivated us all by
his kindness. I sometimes think that Eusbe drops by to visit. I have no formal proof of that, just something in the back of my mind which tells me the past lives on. You hear friends and
relatives who are referred to as ghosts, angels or spirits. And
perhaps its all how you wish to view and interpret the past. For
me its about nice thoughts, warm feelings and good memories.
For someone else the memory might not be so cheerful so the
angel in my picture might be something else in their picture.
I do not claim to have any special answers or talents in this area.
I do not feel it would be wise to try to forecast the future or
gather in a dark room to try to get in contact with someone. But I do not argue with those who claim to do these things. Just perhaps I am too much a realist or perhaps just want and prefer
to view those who have left us as being somewhere in a bright and beautiful light, surrounded by beautiful scenery and family.
And I would tend to leave it rest, in that order. We live, we die,
and the future is not for us to see. Some see relatives in a state
of reincarnation or angel like shapes. I simply see our loved ones as they were, but on a journey to a special place and there
to remain until we join them. A simplistic picture perhaps, but it
works for me. What about you?
