I recently had made a statement to my husband that sometimes I get tired of living. Immediately I knew that it would be taken totally wrong. Of course at that point my husband went into all the reasons one has to live. I quickly stopped him in his perception and told him what I ment. I said i get tired of living but I never said I was tired of LIFE!.. I love Life!.
The "living" that I am tired of is the constant focus on whats wrong all the time. With all the recent doomsday talk of recession, political infighting, job losses, mortgage crisis and just all around bad news we find ourselves constantly and totally bombarded with reasons why we can't continue. We think we will somehow be out of the loop if we dont ackowlege outloud that we too are suffering... When I leave my house and strike up conversation with strangers no matter what the question "How about this weather?, How are you today?, even Read any good books lately?", the automatic response is negative... "It's too hot, It's too cold. My body aches, Who reads books anymore?" making it seem that with all the suffering thats going on in the world, to try to focus on anything else is rediculous.
But True Life is the sole and complete focus on the good that has happened to you today. It doesnt have to be spectacular, it just has to be acknowledged! If you start to take notice of the little good things (a perfect cup of coffee, a good feeling inside, a funny joke), then the good will grow and eventually overide your day. You are not expected to slove the worlds problems, you can't. You can and are able to contribute to this being a good day just by admitting you have experienced something good today and acting like it!
If you put forth effort to highlight the good outloud and on purpose, the good life will eventually become a habit and once it's a habit, it becomes a living.
