If you liked this post, check out more from Mrs. Rachel Williams."Because of the progress mankind has achieved and because of the difficulties that are at times part and parcel of progress and prosperity, we find ourselves at a crossroad where we might make the world safe for our future generations or we might all perish together." ~ His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie
"Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men and found no dwelling place." The Book of Enoch 42:2
One of my favorite things to do to relax is to cook. Cooking healthy and scrumptious food just makes a person feel good! I grew up learning how to cook from many GREAT cooks and one thing I've learned to do is cook with love, grace and imagination. The more you put good energy into the food that you cook the better it is for you- nourishing the body and the soul both.
Everyone I'm sure hasn't felt like cooking at one time or another and that's me too, but the best thing to do is be prepared for those times by cooking things ahead of time and freezing or canning them. A homemade can of chili soup and some crackers go a long way! Just remember McDonalds and Perkins and grocery stores may not always be there for you to fall back on!
We've all heard of the five P's Prior Planning Prevents Pis-poor Performance, well I'd like to say that there are five P's that you can use to prevent that and do the best that you can. Power, Peace, Patience, Perseverance and Preservation. Power to have the strength every day and realize that you can have control of your own body and emotions. Peace to have in your mind constantly - when things are unpeaceful every situation looks insurmountable. With proper peace you can achieve things in a good frame of mind. Patience because not every day is going to look like you are getting anything done! Perseverance in those times when the peace and the patience run thin and you are striving for more. Preservation to remind you to preserve the best things: love, life, food, thought and all the grace, peace, power and preservation to make your life and mind run smoothly. It all takes constant maintenance in your mind and when you feel a "pis-poor performance" coming on you should have something to fall back on in your mind and stamina.
I am a woman who has thought often of how my talents and gifts can best be used and how I can be the best at who I am. Many people have read the Bible through the ages and misinterpreted what it was trying to say concerning many things. The main focus of the Book is love- to love one another. I love to search and study out clues to many different things and the Bible is no different to me. So in my search to become a good woman it's no surprise that Proverbs 31 or "The Virtuous Woman" passage has always stuck out to me. Just in case you've never read it before I will insert it here: "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies, the heart of her Husband (King) doth safely trust in her so that He shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool and flax and worketh willingly with her hands. She riseth also while it is yet night and giveth meat to her household. She girdeth her loins with strength and her candle goeth not out by night~ She stretcheth forth her hands to the needy. Her Husband is known in the gates when he sitteth among the elders of the land. Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household. Her children and her husband rise up and call her blessed. Many daughters have done virtuously but though excellest them all. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her own hands and let her own works praise her in the gates."
There are many things that I can expound on that I have learned and am constantly learning and I will throughout my blogs but today I want to talk about the first part- "A virtuous woman who can find - her price is FAR BEYOND RUBIES." If you are a woman reading this and you are blessed by knowing that you strive to be a virtuous woman I want you to know that you're price really is far above rubies. A woman can hold her family and the generations together. Protect and save seeds and the earth from the corruption of others, support and love your husband through MANY trials and tribulations. "The heart of her husband doth SAFELY trust in her." Search your heart and your mind and make sure that you're husband is able to safely trust in you; there is no greater love to give him. As a woman learn to be the peaceful rock in your husbands and families lives, learn how to change the world by the way that you live and what you stand for. Stand for the right and for those who have no other help. Empress Menen had this to say:" Obviously war is one of the major problems which bring disaster on the life of mankind. Inspite of the differences of color, race, creed or religion between women in this world, they all hate war because the fruits of wars is nothing but disaster. War exterminates their beloved husbands, their brothers and their children. It destroys and eliminates their families. We would like to bring to the attention of all women of the world that it is their duty to voice and express solidarity against such acts." Who am I to add to what Empress Menen and countless others have said? Just one who wants everyone to HEAR. Solidarity against war at home, war of the mind and war in the world. Let us express peace today and everyday. As a virtuous woman stop thinking of and dreaming it and do it instead! Be the woman you were meant to be.
JAH BLESS!
