Being a pretty nice warm day~ I have had my kitchen window open which opens up to the huge spruce tree~The Robins ~** The first sign of spring**~ are singing ever so sweetly~ I was thinking about how to keep the Robins around so they would nest in that tree since it is so big..... and high enough from the ground~ that the cats dont have a chance of disrupting the nest.....
I used to think .....that you could use lint from the dryer to set out for the birds to use in building thier nest .......however i have discovered that it isnt a good idea at all .....as there probably are some fibers ....that arent good for the birds....... and ......also they may soak up the water when it rains...... and stay wet for a long time .... Apparently only cotton thread ....and butcher string are useful....
Birdwatching in your own backyard is certainly rewarding ....
