blog
I dedicate this brief article to our Mom, born May 18, 1918 and
died on Feb. 1, 2010.
Our Mom was like your mom, absolutely special. Perhaps like
all the Moms of the world, who carry out so many tasks without
expecting a word of thanks. But graciously and quietly accept
appreciation.
Our Mom raised four kids, always had coffee and breakfast
ready for Dad. Always had words of encouragement for us
as we went through the process of going from baby to child
to teenager to adult. Not an easy task.
What is it that we love so much about our Mom? Maybe it
simply put - is her acceptance of us kids, just the way we were,
the way we are. Acceptance is not easy. And our love for Mom-
knowing and understanding how much she loved and cared for
us even at times when we were nasty little people. Kids are
not the easiest to raise, as you find out when you become a parent. But Mom took it all in stride, from going to church,
to going on a picnic to working in the garden, to bringing in the
frozen clothing off the outdoor clothesline, to preparing some of
the most beautiful and special meals, that only mom could possibly prepare. And that is just a fraction of her efforts...
Sorry Mom, here I go, being the baby of the family, missing you
and trying to write this without a few tears, but guess what-
thats just not possible, because we all miss you so very much on
this first mothers day without you.
To all Moms of the world, I salute you. And pray that everyone
of you shall have a wonderful and meaningful Mothers Day.
