Multiple lives? Returning to earth as someone else? Living forever - is it possible?

blog
I once enjoyed a long conversation with a buddy, named Gerry
who had just returned from Belfast. He had many stories to tell
about some of his friends and relatives in Ireland, even some with connections to the IRA. Some scarry situations. Some almost heart-stopping moments. Real life stories.  And lives often cut short as a result of a conversation that became an
argument, usually about religion. It almost seems to me that so
much of what happens in this world is a war of religions. Mine is
better than yours. No. Yours is no good. Its mine.  Now that bit
of nasty sounds like childish gibberish. But its serious stuff.
People die over religious matters. It has gone on for decades.

Anyways, I jokingly remarked that my intention would be to live
forever, to which Gerry replied - not very likely. But when you
seriously think about it, writers, composers, actors - have taken
a road which has given them life after life. It just continues. Now
how often do you find yourself saying....do you remember this,
do you remember her, do you remember him?

Just very possibly it is not a bad thing to dream about living forever? But what is forever? What does that really mean?
Maybe it means...life does go on...with memories, thoughts,
books, just a whole lot of good things that the mind can conjure
if we let it. Maybe it means we need the common sense and
dignity to give ourselves a good life. And that takes work. A whole lifetime of work. Not easy, but quite possible. And it has
been achieved by some very successful people. Just to strive to
be healthy, happy, look on the bright side.

And who knows, in whatever sense of words you wish to use to
describe it...just possibly - you can live forever....at least in the
sense that your good deeds are not forgotten.
