I followed her to the drive in movie with her new boyfriend and at the intermission proceeded to get the baseball bat out of my trunk. I was going
to smash in the window and yell, ok punk, make my day....
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
I followed her to the drive in movie with her new boyfriend and decided I had
best leave and speak with her in the morning. Unfortunately I drove to a nearby
lake and parked too close to shore. The tires sank into the sand. I spent most
of the night digging out and drove back to the city, tired and weary in the
morning. Life had just taught me an important lesson...
LESSON LEARNED
Listen to that inner voice. I call our wonderful conscience MY IMAGINARY
FRIEND. And my imaginary friend saved the day. As Dad used to say, Sometimes you just have got to eat humble pie...and get on with life.
SO WHAT HAPPENED?
I took Dad's advice and got on with life. I found this new girlfriend who
became the love of my life and we do absolutely everything together and
life has been wonderful. But let me tell you....it could have been
a lot different...
For many young people who have a relationship, you need to understand that
life is a two way street. Both parties must consent to agree or disagree and
there is that time we simply put up, grow up and move on. Thats just
how it is...
