Of course a wedding anniverary is special. More special if its golden. And as
we passed through the throngs of guests you hear a smattering of messages among
the guests. Do I know you? Did you know whatcha-ma-call-it him or her?
And so it goes.
Voices of the past are guests as well. They seem to enter into and out of conversations. Their pictures hang on the wall. Their eyes seem to express
an unusual look on this given day. This day of a very special anniversary.
Are these folks from the past here - now? Oh, one voice proclaims, yes, we did that! And the conversation is diverse....
Sometimes a sort of spiritual silence seems to linger, even when a hall is
full of people, guests move to and fro...
There was a tornado? Oh, where? Your house is still standing?
My the kids have grown! She works - where? And another hug...
sure love those hugs, at my age I need more of them...
Yes a wedding anniversary is very special. It took much time and sacrifice
to make it possible. And much love to travel from the 10th to the 50th. And so
it goes.
The crowd begins to disperse after a good meal, some music by the Nighthawks
sharing some memories. And it all seems to move - within earshot of yesterday.
Those that are and those that were. The windows of time and space. And by the
grace of God we all shared in this special magic of a golden wedding anniversary....
