WHAT ARE WE WORRIED ABOUT

I guess we all worry. Worry about war. Worry about terrorism. Worry about whether or not we have a job to go to. Worry about the car starting on a cold day. Worried about our health. Worried about our next door neighbor. And the list goes on. Perfectly normal to worry.
I probably do enough worrying for all of us.
But comes a time we need to reflect just a little on how good things are.
The fact of having food on the table, a decent health care system, a fairly safe city and country to live in. Yes, but still those darn things to worry about...so what to do?
That song Don"t worry be happy - just might not do it anymore. But an ounce or two of positive thinking can help. And a few moments in the church of our choice, or visiting with friends we enjoy. Or just the realization that life is short so we had better pick ourselves up and get out of the rut of feeling sorry for ourselves or feeling sorry for our friends and neighbors. Better to bring over a few cookies or offer to clean a walk. Or just a friendly how are you type of phone call. That kind of thing goes along ways getting over the worry.
If its the economy you are worried about, well guess what, everyone else has the same concern but most just get on with life, let the chips fall where they may. After all, there is only so much we can really do.
We are all really much better off than those in earlier times. People live longer and have access to so much more information. The internet brings us into clinics and libraries and places that provide a clue to the future and in fact - its not all bad. Even if our perception of it is not so
rosy.
As Dad would say, its easy to feel sorry for yourself because you have no shoes, until you look up the road and find a man who has no feet.
