There are likely thousands of souls such as I who once in a while sit down at the keyboard and pen a song. I have written hundreds. Most of them sit idle in a filing cabinet. Only a few, very few have gone anywhere special. I am a songwriter. I understand the perils of the music industry, I know that its extremely difficult.
My friend and fellow co-writer (Richard Brown) have together written
PRETTY LITTLE SUNSHINE GIRL and it received a small amount of attention on one or two country stations. In the meantime Rick has gone on to travel throughout Canada and the United States. The ride has not been easy. There were many noisy bars and there were times I am certain Rick wanted to give it up. But his faith and persistence have carried him forward.
That huge place, known as the music industry - the birth place of many wanabe
stars, the place where many have perished under the weight of pressure, and drugs and nerves....
Rick sent me an e.mail recently, he was on his way to Arizona. Hopefully his health is good and he continues to create some beautiful Jazz. Some of his
instrumentals can be heard (yes, the entire song) and all you do is go to
www.songsculptor.com and click on the song titles in the jukebox. You may
share my appreciation for songs such as THE FLAME, AMANDA'S SMILE,
and others. Through the ups and downs, Rick has gone on to become
an award winning songwriter, Record Producer and Music Educator.
Yes, I am proud to be one of Rick's co-writers and hope that this blog will
help in that long journey and that we shall hear more of this talented gentleman.
Best regards SongSculptor.
