For some reason I cannot sleep. My bad cough is keeping me from going outdoors to view the first lunar eclipse in about 400 years....

blog
I awake around 3 A.M. Perhaps a cup of warm tea just might settle down this bad cough and sore throat. My sister Marian
told me to try Oregano and water.

There was a beautiful smell of flowers in our bedroom this evening. My wife is sound asleep. Our precious doggie Sandy is
cozy and also sound asleep, finding a place by the artificial Christmas tree. Earlier outdoors, snowflakes were falling.
Memories, like the beautiful smell of flowers seem to surround me. Trouble is, there are no flowers in the bedroom. I am told by a psychic friend, the smell of flowers represents someone who has passed on, coming for a visit. Maybe even an angel.

I sip the hot tea. It does help a little. I think of Mom and Dad and us kids growing up in a small house. I had thought about going outdoors to view the lunar eclipse, happening during the winter solstice...but the cough is bad, so I stay inside.
The last time there was a lunar eclipse during a winter solstice was back in the year 1638.

According to Cody Hodge, writing on the internet -
legend has it that the Chinese thought a dragon ate the moon,
People in India stay indoors, away from the bad rays. Even the
Babylonians thought the eclipse meant doom.  And the bible
references the Apocalypse when the moon turns red. People in Japan bang pots and pans. Calamity or doom is often associated with a lunar eclipse.  But what do you think?

Doggie Sandy looks up at me, curious why I am up so early.
Think I had best get back to dream land.

Christmas is only 4 days away,,,,
