For all fellow bloggers. Good to know a little background on a great author such as James Oliver Curwood.
Born the youngest of four children, James quit college after 2 years, then saved enough to travel to the Yukon and Alaska. He eventually wrote more than 30 novels, several being made into movies, became a wealthy man, even built a castle. But while on a fishing trip, was bitten on the thigh by a spider, an allergic reaction resulted, infection set in and that led to his death.
A hunter in his youth and later an advocate for protecting the environment.
Actually, the book the Bear I referred to in the previous blog
was called GRIZZLY KING: A ROMANCE OF THE WILD
but turned into a movie (The Bear).
