IS IT TRUE, THAT WE ARE WHAT WE EAT?

My sister Marian is going to love this blog. Why? Because she
loves to cook, find new recipes and go bravely towards something new. If we happen to talk on the phone, which we do
once in a while, the subject is often food. And that is a good thing. We all need to eat. We all need to eat healthy.
Our daughter Chris loves to cook up some beautiful oatmeal
cookies (has got to be a favorite), my wife makes some of the finest cabbage rolls in the country and I am certain sister Marian has probably memorized every single best recipe there is.
And folks are eating healthy foods these days (or should be doing this), For those who have a problem with Celiac disease
(and there seems to be many) there is a growing trend towards
getting away from gluten. When going to eat out, many phone
a restaurant in advance to confirm a gluten-free diet food
is available. This does not stop you from enjoying your french fries and sausages(even sausages are sold gluten-free).
But back to food. How do you start the day? Bacon and eggs?
Or perhaps like myself, with oats or bran. Also, a little metamucil. Yes, sooner or later we must adjust our diets to
protect our heart and the rest of our body, because next to
excercise (and you don't need to spend big bucks at a work out
location - unless you want to) just work on a sensible list of good food and do some walking (daily).
But if you are tempted to look at some great food, click onto a blog called HOT POLKA DOT or one of my favorites, called
Kitchen Scraps by Pierre Lamielle. And there are absolutely
tons of recipe books, some that reach out towards those of us
seeking a healthy diet.
The key is, eat healthy, try to stay healthy, especially as we
age - we need to look after ourselves.
Now, I wonder what sister Marian is cooking up today?
