My idea of having fun on the internet, is simply tuning in on
Internet Radio. As I write this blog, for example, in the background George Strait is singing - Does Ft Worth Ever
Cross your mind. Temperature up here in Canada below zero
but the Country Legends station in Houston tells me the weather
is a balmy 47 degrees. Kind of warms up your spirit.
Or I might feel the need of some original music from Hawaii
or Jazz from Montreal and lo and behold, its all there.
Several years ago when our kids left home to teach English
in Japan, winter was quiet in our home with only my wife and I
getting through our first winter without the kids, but the saving
grace that year was listening to a little radio station from Ace,
Texas and sending e.mail to the late Ronnie Dyson, asking him
to play a certain song and dedicate the song to us winter folks
up here in Canada. That was a real special time and helped
take us through a cold winter. It became a habit to tune into
Ronnie's special Night Owl Show. And thanks to Ronnie, I
still treasure the now tattered t-shirt, courtesy of the Night Owl
Show, again which featured the older classic country music
we still enjoy.
If you have not found it, look for it and enjoy it. Internet Radio
might take you on the special journey that we have discovered.
And thanks Houston for your splendid Country Classic music.
