I  suppose we (each and everyone of us) often wonder about the world and
all the changes, the layoffs, the jobs that looked like they would last forever,
homes that were sold for a fraction of the value one would expect, food prices
and fuel going up and going down. Factories that look like junk yards. And
so on and so forth. We all know the story. We read about it, talk about it,
think about it, dream about it and sometimes just wish it were a bad dream
and that it should (hopefully) go away.

But hopefully we can keep the faith, keep our sense of humour, keep our
personal book of dreams and our diary of ambitions. Hopefully we can carry on,
and sometimes that is plain and simple all we can do, all we can ask...is just
to try to carry on.  And try very hard not to mimic the story of the cat that once
jumped on a hot stove and later would not jump on a cold stove. The idea there
is that to fail does not mean to give up, to fail means to hopefully learn why
we failed in the first place and either start again or simply take a different
road. Yes. A different road. A different approach. A new beginning. And is it
not just so wonderful to wake up each morning and remind ourselves that
this is not only a new day, but a new beginning.

I am not unlike many of you who failed at more than one thing. Sometimes
there was a reason and sometimes it appeared there was not a reason. But
yes, to carry on, as the beautiful little song goes....pick yourself up, dust
yourself off and start again.....

So that is the simple logic of these few words, just a reminder to myself
and anyone who finds this interesting and useful to remember we are not
alone in this universe and that others have travelled on a similar path
and possibly encountered similar things that we have. The key, as they
say, is knowing the difference in what we are capable of (better at) and
what perhaps would make life a longer and more difficult journey. Then
again some prefer the hard road or the road less travelled. Some prefer
to learn from mistakes and some of us make those mistakes more than
once. Laugh at yourself (I know that I do) and live the best you can, the
way that makes you happy and keep the faith, most important, whatever
that faith is.  And remember the next day is truly, a new day,
a new beginning....
