The world has lost a wonderful person. I have never met Gordon Tootoosis but know if I had - we would many things to talk about...he was an accomplished native dancer, rodeo roper, pow wow announcer, activist and most memorable in the movies, starring in THE EDGE, CALL OF THE WILD, LEGENDS OF THE FALL and many many more.

No doubt GordonTootoosis was a role model for aboriginal youth. Born in Poundmaker Cree Nation. Having to experience
some humiliation and brutality in the Catholic Residential School, having a struggle throughout his life with the two cultures, yet going on to achieve greatness in the many movies
and television series we shall always remember. Gordon was
descendant of Yellow Mud, brother of Cree Chief  Poundmaker.

But most of us will remember Gordon playing a role of a sly
and cunning character in North of Sixty, or with Brad Pitt in
the epic drama film LEGENDS OF THE FALL or with
Anthony Hopkins in THE EDGE which also featured Alec
Baldwin and Bart the Bear.

Gordon lost a son-in-law to suicide and  year later his
daughter passed on from Cancer.

Gordon, we shall never forget you. The drums sound and the
quiet wind of the forest takes you to places high and beyond
where the eagle rests on the mountain and the sun sets with
a gentle rain....
