Some who have a good voice - sing, and some who do not have a good voice also sing. Some artists are better than others, yet we have many throughout the world creating art, or what they feel is art.
Likewise, writers feel the need to write, to express, to compare,
to focus on change, and for reasons too numerous to mention. The fact that someone wrote about religion or politics has sometimes placed that individual in great danger or peril. It has cost some their lives. Still, writers continue to write.
Blogs appear daily, some possibly better than others, some with
noble ideas and some with a coldness that leave a chill after you
finish reading....yet the words pour out. Not always factual or accurate. Not always deserving of a literary prize. Sometimes simply wrought with anger or hatred. The words flow....
In some countries of this world there have been men and women placed in prison or facing the death penalty for making a statement,
making a claim, trying to right a wrong....
Bloggers have gotten in trouble with family and friends for perhaps being inconsiderate or creating a feeling of something gone wrong.
Why did he say that? Did she mean that? Where did the writer get such preposterous information? What side of the moon was that blogger born on? And it goes on....
As I stated earlier, hell is full of good intentions and it is imperative that what it is we are trying to say is said in such a way that the sun
might still rise and set without our needing to run and hide. Words can hurt. Words can mend. Words can and do - cost a life.
So, we all need to be mindful of what it is we are trying to convey to those readers who we are convinced might read our blog and share our point of view. Or not!! Still, if we don't get some things off of our chest.....ah, you know the rest.
Its not easy to blog, nor is easy to ride a slippery slope without some risk. The question is: At what cost?
