I recently came back from a trip of a lifetime to India. It was a 10 week trip, which was completely funded by DFID (Department for International Development) and run by Platform2. As well as wanting to inspire others to grab this opportunity, I also wish to blog some of my stories and write about some thoughts I had whilst I was there.

So a bit of background - I and 44 other young people from the UK set out on the 27th May 2009 from London Heathrow, excited for a chance to provide change for people in India. Monday to Friday we split into 7 groups, taught in local schools and did construction work. At the weekends we were free to travel away from the camp we lived at. That's it, in a nut shell.

Needless to say, it was a humbling, eye-opening, heart-wrenching experience.
