Second day at the school & it was a lot easier than I had anticipated. Although the school feels more like a zoo (!), the kids really are lovely. Like affectionate animals. I think they take advantage of the fact that we are foreigners & expect us to give them handouts, but we all refuse. Saying that, Conrad gave them some books with animal drawings in them; they went nuts. Realised they are not aware of the concept of sharing. Try explaining we are there to teach and not to give free stuff - they don't understand!
I taught class 4 today as Cleo is poorly. It was hard work. One girl, Niki, is such a handful! All the kids are only 8 years old. But PHEW! I can't wait to teach class 2. 2 hours of morning teaching feels so long.
Going to Palampur now to get an Indian SIM, hopefully talk to some homies.
