Seeing people do charity work is nothing new...it's largely an hour here, an hour there and then they go home.  However, yesterday I met someone who works regularly with Caritas of Austin (homeless assistance).  The stories that she shared with me go way, way above and beyond the normal bounds of volunteering.  I wont go into some of the details, but there is occasional violence, occasional bodily fluids, and only the occasional sense of true gratitude.  So - it's with tremendous appreciation that I thank the people of Caritas in Austin.  Your work has inspired me to go beyond what I've done in the past.
