Victor must have loved that day in 2004 when his book (The Natasha's - Inside the New Global Sex Trade) was launched in the U.S. And only Victor
Malarek could get the inside story. He tells us -they (the prostitutes) are the victims and not the willing participants. And you can get a visual insight from the movie MONSTER...about life on the street. Victor went on to pen Enslaved and Exploited, The Story of Sex Trafficking in Canada and The Johns, Sex for Sale and the Men who buy it.
But there is so much more to Victor Malarek. He was a street kid himself, and for a time his life was under Quebec's child protection system. Thus the book (1984) Hey Malarek: The story of a street kid
who made it.
Back in the days of the Star Weekly, Victor got his start with Weekend Magazine. His stories, research and eventually television productions were intense,
subject matter varied, such as another book: Gut Instinct, the making of an investigative reporter.
So perhaps the fact that for Victor Malarek the journey was not easy made going from reporter to writer to becoming truly successful in Canada.Yet
success has not been a shiny trophy on the shelf, rather it has been a success born of personal difficulty combined with an urge to research and learn and understand situations and circumstances,
and Victor Malarek continues to amaze those who
take the time to read his books and understand his
reasons for doing and saying what he does....
Bravo Author Victor Malarek!!
