More and more we are finding artists looking for a place to show works of art, a place that encourages songwriters to perform music, and a gathering place for multi-activities where the average person does not feel intimidated but rather welcomed by an artistic community and this would certainly be the the case at The Expressionz Cafe up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Expressionz Cafe almost makes one feel hip, a little bohemian, located off the beaten track in the
Old Strathcona region of Edmonton (up here in Canada).  The actual address is 9938-70 Avenue.

Expressionz Cafe possibly represents a change - being that artists and musicians are looking towards
not only affordability but somewhere that feels a little humble and yet is quite busy with a variety of
activities going on. Classes, seminars, workshops, even a place for a songwriter to offer a new song on a Sunday night. Cool. Very cool. And a place for artists to bring art to hang and sell. And sell they do.
Also photographs. I forgot to ask Karyn about poetry readings?

Karyn (a songwriter and musician herself) is one of the movers and shakers in this new trendy type of
artistic community and by the simple fact she is busy
on a Monday morning lets you know its going to be a busy week. Even large rooms available for rent for
companies, and even non-profit groups.

Expressionz Cafe reminds me of places in California and little jazz joints in Chicago and for those that play music or those who simply love music and art - a new place to hang out (and be a part of) or simply enjoy with an affordable meal and a cup of java.

I am sure if Jack Kerouac were alive - he would approve...
