Maybe its the growl of the Harley that I like. Maybe its a reflection on youth. But there it was, Easy Rider playing loud and clear on our television. A classic film of the 60's. If you have not seen it - check it out - a film about two bikers who travel coast to coast, trying to discover America. And what a journey. With Jack Nicholson having a small role, but a performance which brought Jack national attention. What I like is how the movie takes you through small towns, a hippie commune, and even a new Orleans bawdy house.
A somewhat shocking movie in terms of the ending which I shall not give away...but the realization that the freedom that Nicholson mentions in the movie is there for each and everyone, but with freedom comes a price, as it did in the movie....
If you find motorcycles of interest then Easy Rider gives you a glimmer of being on the road. I remember a big fellow, Big Red - letting me crank up his magnificent Harley one summer day and going down that highway with wind in your hair made you feel a bit of that freedom that you get on a motorcycle...
We are only young once but memories of youth are brought back in this classic movie, Easy Rider.
Rumble on Harley Davison....rumble on....
