It was not until around 1962, that would put Stephen Hawking at around the age of 20, when he started to develop symptoms of ALS - and no doubt in many respects that would change his life.He had basically fallen down a flight of stairs and hit his head. Although by 1966 he had continued to work on his PhD and graduated with a doctorate, pretty incredible for a man in pain, suffering and having all sorts of physical difficulties. But lets not stumble on his problems but move on to some of his spectacular achievements, such as the fact he spent some 30 years as Luscian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge right up to his retirement... No doubt even at this time when Mr.Hawking is probably thinking of ideas that would benefit the universe because that seems to be second nature to him and more important being able to understand this advanced information which for most of us takes flight after we read and try to understand a paragraph or two. Now I will end this story about this obviously incredible genius, by noting that Hawking has been collaborating with neuroscientists on a brain-computer interface that could translate Hawkings thoughts into words....??!! Stephen Hawking had concerns for our universe, noting this world of ours could easily be wiped out by nuclear war,a genetically engineered virus or some other such danger and that the human race (in order to continue) must go into outer space.... Stephen is around 70 and has beat the odds of survival for a man with ALS and we should take the time to consider his various ideas on earth, space and time....
