There was a movie with Jimmy Stewart, something about a banker getting
depressed and thinking of jumping off a bridge. Along comes an angel...
Perhaps many of you remember that inspirational story, or the book about
angels written by Billy Graham. Or you have heard a song that stays with
you about angels, a favorite poem, short story, book, work of art. So okay,
I have a confession to make. I believe in angels. But why you ask? But
how? Well, I recall at least two occassions of being stranded in a snow
storm (and we get lots of these in Canada) and along comes a stranger to
help. Most curious...

One pilot I spent countless hours working with in my days of aerial
photography and that on the final flight with Ron, prior to his demise
from leukemia I recall a bright light about him. Again, most curious.

Yes. I believe in angels. Another time (some 40 years ago) I was in
my twenties working with a construction crew and fell from a ladder.
I ended up being scheduled for a gall bladder operation but stopped
at a restaurant near to where my girlfiend (now my wife)worked, which was
in the field of medical transcription.Anyways, we ate at a small cafe
(we called the greasy spoon) and Hattie, the owner - personally served
us. And at the same time asked my permission to say a prayer over my
shoulder, as she said, she could feel my pain. Strangely, just before
the scheduled operation the doctors had a sudden conference and noted
the X-ray seemed to show some mysterious healing had taken place.
And stranger still, Hattie passed on about two weeks later.  Was she now
in the realm of angels? I would think so.

Many of you have your own stories or heard stories of inspiration and
mystery. Many of our Christmas songs are about angels. Perhaps we all
need to reflect on how we shall all need to earn our wings...
